Pride Month

Pride Month

The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) and its supporting departments invite you to celebrate Pride Month. Through virtual and in-person events, CNRA departments, commissions and conservancies will be honoring LGBTQ2S+ leaders in the environmental field.

Celebrate this year’s Pride Month with our theme Exist. Resist. Have the Audacity, which recognizes the boldness it takes to show up authentically, challenge inequities and lead with purpose. This Pride Month, we honor the resilience of the LGBTQ2S+ community and reaffirm our commitment to fostering workplaces where everyone is seen, supported and thrives.

About Pride Month

About Pride Month

June is Pride Month, an entire month dedicated to uplifting and celebrating LGBTQ2S+ voices, lives, contributions and experiences. LGBTQ2S+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning and two-spirit, which is an umbrella term across American Indian and First Nations cultures for a person who embodies both male and female spirits within them.

Join us for a series of events and activities designed to empower voices, foster thoughtful reflection, and inspire meaningful action for a brighter, more inclusive future. The logo reflects the flag designed in 2018 to celebrate the diversity of the modern-day LGBTQ2S+ community and call for a more inclusive society. The colors also have their own unique symbolism:

Red: Life

Orange: Healing

Yellow: Sunlight

Green: Nature

Turquoise: Magic and Art

Indigo: Serenity

Violet: Spirit

Black and Brown: People of Color

Pink, White, Baby Blue: Transgender
