American River Conservancy recently completed a restoration project to remove exotic vegetation and re-vegetate 10-acres of mixed oak woodland and riparian habitats on the 272-acre Wakamatsu Farm in El Dorado County. The project also included upgrading existing nature trail to ADA accessible as well as creating a native plant nursery and community farm. The property has strong cultural connections as well that help make the project come alive.
This project was funded via the Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program.
