Community Benefits Program
Rio Vista, California features a popular fishing pier next to the Rio Vista Bridge over the Sacramento River.
DWR is developing a Community Benefits Program for the Delta Conveyance Project which will ultimately identify and implement commitments to help protect and enhance the cultural, recreational, natural resource and agricultural values of the Delta. Development and eventual administration of this program will be a grassroots and collaborative process with the local community.
Participation in developing a community benefits program does not in any way indicate your support for the Delta Conveyance Project itself. For any questions or feedback related to the development of the Community Benefits Program, please email DeltaConveyanceCBP@water.ca.gov.

Spring 2021 Workshops
As part of ongoing development of the Community Benefits Program for the proposed Delta Conveyance Project, DWR hosted community workshops to hear from people who live, work or recreate in the Delta on program concept, goals, objectives and types of projects that could be beneficial to the Delta community.

Case Study Workshop (November 2021)
DWR hosted a virtual workshop to hear and learn from representatives of several different example community benefits programs around the country. Case study project participants shared firsthand experiences about the development and implementation of their programs, including different organizational structures, development timing, important milestones and lessons learned.
