DWR Updates
About 60 miles north of Chico, CA is Anderson River Park which sits along the Sacramento River, downstream from Shasta and Keswick dams. In 2015, this site became the target of a multi-pronged effort to restore 15 side channels along the Sacramento River to support native fish such as Chinook salmon.

Along the North Fork of the Feather River, the Department of Water Resources (DWR) is conducting an innovative reintroduction feasibility study for Central Valley spring-run Chinook salmon that would help boost the salmon population and potentially return the species to its historic habitat.
Take the first step towards a career in the hydroelectric industry by applying for DWR’s Operations and Maintenance apprenticeship program. Completing the program leads to a full-time journey-level position with DWR.
