CNRA Spring Farmers Market

Description: Event open to CNRA state employees. Do you garden, bake, or just enjoy fresh, local goods? Come by the California Natural Resources Agency Spring Farmers Market, a fun opportunity to connect with colleagues and share the season’s bounty. Whether you're swapping homegrown produce and baked goods or simply stopping by to enjoy the atmosphere, everyone is welcome!

Celebrate Earth Week Spirit Days at CNRA

Description: Earth Week Spirit Days (April 20–24, 2026) invite all employees to come together in celebration of our planet through fun, meaningful daily themes. This week is designed to spark conversations around sustainability, highlight the beauty of nature, and inspire collective action toward a greener future.
Earth Week: Bears Can Drive
When: Monday, April 20

Description: Come meet Rubi the bear at Sugar Pine Point State Park. In this program we will explore the differences between wildland bears of the Tahoe backcountry and our mischievous city bears that have become more and more comfortable around humans. We will look at some characteristics and adaptations of these incredible creatures. For example, did you know that black bears in California can have a wide range of fur colors from black/dark brown to cinnamon blonde. We will also explore what our role is in keeping bears wild. We need to lock up our trash and litter less. We will play a flashcard guessing game about bear species that live all around the world.
Earth Week: Pelican Portrait Party: Draw Along with Gaviota State Park
When: Monday, April 20

Description: Join us for a fun and relaxed pelican draw-along inspired by our coastal surroundings! Follow step-by-step as we sketch this iconic seabird, from its big bill to its broad wings, while learning a few fascinating facts along the way. No art experience needed, just bring your curiosity and creativity! Recommended art supplies: paper, drawing tools (like pencil, pen, and/or colored pencils).

Plant Swap Meetup

Salmon in the Trees

Clothing Repair Workshop

Description: Bring an item of clothing in need of mending to this workshop and gain practical skills to refresh your most loved clothes. Experienced menders will demonstrate and coach participants in the following skills:
- Sewing on a button
- Fixing a small tear
- Repairing a loose hem
- Securing a loose seam
All About Acorns
When: Wednesday, April 22,

Description: Explore a traditional food staple of California Native Peoples before European contact. We will examine the history of Indigenous peoples of California and their deep, enduring connection to the land. Learn how acorns, known as uuti in the Nisenan language, were traditionally gathered and processed into a sustainable food source that supported communities for tens of thousands of years. Join us at the State Indian Museum on Earth Day as we discover more about California’s Indigenous peoples and how they utilized California's natural resources, including the state’s most abundant natural food source. This program is designed for 4th and 5th grade students, but all participants are welcome.

Redwoods Earth Cycles and Climate Change at Hendy Woods

Delta Stewardship Council Blog: Partnership Takes Delta Science to New Heights

Ambition into Action: Game-Changing Green Progress in the Golden State
When: Thursday, April 23, 2026, from noon to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Virtual
Description: California has turned policy into results you can see and feel in daily life. Safer drinking water flows from the tap in communities long left behind. Local food systems grow stronger, connecting farms to schools and families and cutting waste. More lands and coastal waters are conserved to protect ecosystems and expand access. Clean energy now powers more homes and businesses, reducing pollution and lowering costs over time.
This Earth Week, join state leaders for a candid conversation on this progress and learn what comes next in the years ahead.

Protecting Our Wetlands - Exploring the California Delta Ecosystem

Seal Spotlight - Unveiling the Wonder of Harbor Seals
When: April 24
Description: Springtime is an exciting time of year at Point Lobos! Harbor seals come ashore to have their pups. Join Interpreters Ashley and Isabella to take a closer look at the adaptations of these unique animals and how being in a marine reserve helps these animals survive. Students will also have the opportunity to think about what actions they can take to help protect these marine mammals.

Earth Day at the Salton Sea: Coffee & Canvas
When: Saturday, April 25, from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Location: North Shore Yacht Club, 99-155 Sea View Drive, North Shore, CA 92254
Description: Celebrate Earth Day and start your Saturday with sun, coffee, and creativity at the Salton Sea. Connect with the State’s Salton Sea Program team and Audubon California and hear about the work shaping the Sea’s future. Then, pick up a brush and bring the landscape to life on a canvas tote bag in a guided painting experience in collaboration with Brushour Paint. This is a family event open to anyone who wants to learn more about the Salton Sea. Everyone is invited.

The ABC’s of Native Bees with Krystel Hickman

Description: Join us in person for a special conversation with author Krystle Hickman and Secretary Wade Crowfoot as they discuss her book, The ABC’s of California’s Native Bees, which introduces readers to 26 native bee species, one for each letter of the alphabet, using stunning photography and storytelling to highlight their unique behaviors, habitats, and conservation needs.
