Technical Assistance

Technical assistance services include:

Planning: concept development; CEQA compliance; funding application support; cost estimating; study development; and project management.

Design: habitat design; plant selection; construction monitoring; project design criteria; and modeling to improve water quality. 

Environmental compliance: permit strategies and preparation; coordination with regulatory agencies. 

Scientific: protected species surveys and monitoring; development of stream restoration techniques; data collection; hydraulic analysis; water quality and flow monitoring. 

Education: curriculum development and implementation. 

Outreach: community engagement, meeting facilitation and stream stewardship through local capacity building. 

To request technical assistance, complete the Online TA Request form, or fill out the PDF version and email it, along with any supporting documents, to USRPinfo@water.ca.gov. The USRP reviews requests on a continuous basis and provides assistance based on staff availability. Projects that receive technical assistance may receive higher priority during grant solicitations.
