Join the Department of Water Resources for the first Drought Resilience Interagency & Partners (DRIP) Collaborative meeting. Members of the public will be able to observe the meeting and provide public comments in-person at the meeting location or remotely. Remote participation will be conducted via a web-based videoconferencing service called Zoom. Registration is not required to provide public comments. 5. 2023 Hydrology Update

State agency staff will brief the DRIP Collaborative on the current and projected surface water, snowpack, and groundwater conditions to anticipate near-term drought response needs proactively.

6. 2023 Drought Perspectives

Presenters will share what drought means to them, the challenges they face and the solutions they suggest. The Collaborative will hear from various speakers with different regional on-the-ground perspectives on what actions/preparations are underway for the upcoming drier summer months. The panel will be followed by Collaborative member questions, answers, and discussion.

7. DRIP Collaborative Visioning Discussion

The DRIP Collaborative members will engage in a visioning discussion to identify the critical topics that the Collaborative would like to address during the first two-year term (2023 through 2024). The discussion will help identify top drought-related priorities, identify topics for future meeting discussions, and develop a framework for how to build upon current drought actions, identify challenges or barriers, and seek opportunities to develop shared solutions.

8. General Public Comment

The Collaborative offers an opportunity for the public to address the Collaborative on items of interest that are within the Collaborative’s scope. If you wish to give comment, please notify the meeting moderator. Prior to making your comments, please state your name for the record and identify any group or organization you represent. Depending on the number of individuals wishing to address the Council, the Chair may establish specific time limits on presentations.

Written comments can be submitted to drip@water.ca.gov. Staff will make every effort to provide comments received after this deadline electronically, but we cannot make any guarantees. Comments received by the DRIP Collaborative related to meeting agenda items will not be edited and will be posted to the DRIP Collaborative's webpage (www.water.ca.gov/drip) in their entirety.
