Facilitating Improvement of Systemwide Habitat Guidelines Released

DWR has approved the Facilitating Improvement of Systemwide Habitat (FISH) guidelines. In fiscal year 2022/23, Assembly Bill 179 (Stats. 2022, ch. 249, § 11), appropriated $125 million for habitat restoration projects, which require guidelines to administer the new program. The new FISH guidelines will administer this funding and future funding, creating habitat that contributes to the goals contained in the Memorandum of Understanding Advancing a Term Sheet for the Voluntary Agreements. A public draft and public comment period are not required prior to finalizing these guidelines. Once approved, they are considered final.
