NOA of the DEIR for the Tisdale Weir Rehabilitation and Fish Passage Project

Published:

Notice is hereby given that a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) prepared by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Division of Flood Management is available for public review.

Title: Tisdale Weir Rehabilitation and Fish Passage Project

General Description: The Tisdale Weir Rehabilitation and Fish Passage Project (Proposed Project) would integrate structural rehabilitation of Tisdale Weir with installation of fish passage facilities to reduce fish stranding at the weir and improve fish passage through the weir to the Sacramento River. The Tisdale Weir and Bypass are critical components of the Sacramento River Flood Control Project.

Location: The project area for the Proposed Project is located on the east side of the Sacramento River, approximately 13.5 miles southwest of Yuba City in Sutter County, California. The western boundary of the project area is the Sacramento River immediately west of the existing Tisdale Weir and the parking lot for the Sutter County Tisdale Boat Launch Facility. The eastern boundary of the project area is just east of the Garmire Road Bridge, which traverses the Tisdale Bypass downstream of Tisdale Weir. The spoils storage location for the Proposed Project is north of the Tisdale Bypass, approximately 1.5 miles east of the weir.

Review: The public review period for this DEIR begins November 20, 2020, and ends January 15, 2021. The DEIR can be reviewed at the following website:https://water.ca.gov/Programs/Flood-Management/Flood-Projects/Tisdale-Weir
