Water Desalination Grant Program Suspension Announcement

Published:

In February of 2018, DWR initiated a Continuous Application Process for the Water Desalination Grant Program. As indicated in program notices and during public outreach, under the Continuous Application Process, funds would be awarded on a first-ready, first-served basis to eligible applications until all grant funds are exhausted. DWR anticipates that the Proposition 1 Water Desalination Grant Program funds under the Continuous Application Process may be exhausted if all the completed applications that have already been submitted to DWR are recommended for grant award.

Therefore, DWR is suspending the Continuous Application Process effective April 23, 2019, and no new applications will be accepted. All the applications submitted as of this date will be reviewed and funding determination will be made for the submitted applications. Applicants who have initiated an application but have not completed them on the online Grants Review and Tracking System (GRanTS) will not be able to complete their applications.

If after the review of applications submitted as of April 23, 2019, funds remain available, DWR will reopen the Continuous Application Process and GRanTS for application submittal.  DWR will provide the status of the Water Desalination Grant Program through this listserve email list and on the program web page at https://water.ca.gov/Work-With-Us/Grants-And-Loans/Desalination-Grant-Program
