Notice of Intent for Storm Damage DWR Rehabilitation Project Phase 4 and 5

Published:

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released a Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for a 30-day public review.

The IS/MND evaluates environmental impacts that would be potentially affected by the Storm Damage DWR Rehabilitation (SDDR)  Phase 4 and 5 Project (Proposed Project). High flow conditions occurred during the winter of 2016/2017 resulted in erosion and other damage at numerous levees managed by DWR or other local maintaining agencies (LMA”s) such as Reclamation Districts, Levee Districts, etc. Non-emergency repair of the SDDR Phase 4 and 5 sites are expected to occur during summer/fall of 2019 and/or 2020. A description of the proposed project, including  the general construction approach for the proposed repair sites can be found in the Draft IS/MND at the link below.

The Draft IS/MND concludes that the project could have a significant effect on the environmental but with mitigation incorporated all impacts would be less than significant.
