Water Education Foundation: Making Progress on Drought Management: Improvements in Seasonal Precipitation Forecasting
This one-day event will feature expert research meteorologists and climate scientists from the National Weather Service, Scripps Institution of Oceanography’s Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes, DWR and others discussing improvements in the science of long-range forecasting – critical for managing water supplies – and what may be ahead for this winter.
The event also will feature current information about climate change implications for forecasting and experimental forecasting work for the Upper Colorado River Basin, which has been suffering through more than two decades of dry conditions.
Registration fee includes refreshments, lunch and materials. This event is sponsored by the California Department of Water Resources in partnership with the Water Education Foundation.
