Stakeholder Meeting - Wholesale Water Supplier Water Loss Report
The Department of Water Resources (DWR) will conduct a stakeholder meeting on Thursday, November 21 to initiate a study on Wholesaler Water Loss Reporting and the process to develop legislative recommendations. This is the second stakeholder meeting.
In 2018, the State Legislature and the Governor passed two bills that direct California’s effort towards making water conservation a California way of life. One component of these bills directs DWR to study and then make legislative recommendations, by January 1, 2020, on the feasibility of developing and enacting water loss reporting requirements for urban wholesale water suppliers. In completing the study, DWR is required to solicit broad public participation from stakeholders and other interested persons.
