To assist with young salmon migration through the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, DWR has recently completed installation of a bioacoustic fish fence at the junction of the Sacramento River and Georgiana Slough.

DWR is encouraging local agencies to prepare groundwater recharge projects early to maximize the capture and storage of any upcoming storm runoff to recharge groundwater basins.

When a magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck near Isleton in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta on October 18, it was a reminder of the threat posed to critical State Water Project infrastructure by seismic activity.
