Climate Action Day at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve  

When: Tuesday, April 19 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Location: Point Lobos State Natural Reserve - Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA 93923 

Description: Join us at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve for a special, family-friendly Climate Action Day in honor of Earth Day. This interactive event invites visitors to explore the Reserve, learn about conservation efforts, and discover meaningful ways to address the climate crisis. $10 day-use parking fee.

PORTScast Showcase at CNRA Earth Day Event

The Parks Online Resources for Teachers and Students (PORTS) Program is inviting the public to participate in a special Earth Day event at the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) on April 22nd. This innovative program, which connects K-12 students and educators with California’s State Parks through live, interactive video broadcasts, has been a leader in educational outreach for over 20 years.

 

 

The Down Low on Bay Area Innovations: Can AI Help the Bay Area Plan for Climate Change? Panel + Mixer

Description: Bay Area communities face significant near and long-term threats from climate hazards such as sea level rise, flooding, drought and extreme heat. As cities, counties, and regional agencies develop plans, how can AI help, or possibly hinder, their creation? Hosted by the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), this panel brings together elected officials, regional agency staff, technologists and academics to discuss what excites – and worries – them about this emerging technology.

Secretary Speaker Series: California Comebacks! Nature’s Resilience in the Golden State

Earth Day at Doheny State Beach 

When: Saturday, April 26 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Location: 25300 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point, CA, 92629 

Description: Come join us at the Doheny State Beach for Earth Day! Bring your best pollution investigation skills and have fun while we learn about pollution and animals and even participate in some crafts! This interactive event offers lots of activities for adults and kids! Activities for kids include making Owls. This program is free and all ages welcome. Parking fees apply. Hats, water, and sunscreen are highly encouraged. Rain cancels. You may park your car within the general parking area and meet at the beach boardwalk next to Doho Café.

Spring Clean Up at Sherman Island

When: Saturday, April 26 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Location: 4466 West Sherman Island Rd, Rio Vista, CA

Description: Come join us for a clean-up day at Sherman IslandThe Delta Conservancy helps organize and participates in cleanup events to educate and promote awareness of the importance of protecting and improving water quality in the Delta. The trash that flows into the Delta is a serious water pollution problem for both humans and wildlife. At the Delta Waterway Cleanups, volunteers actively participate in water stewardship practices by cleaning up trash and preventing it from reaching waterways and, ultimately, the ocean.

Seeds of Restoration: Earth Day at the Salton Sea

When: Saturday, April 26 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Location: Corner of Leto Ave. & Court Ave. Salton City, CA 92274

Description: Join us to collect seeds from the plants grown at the Salton Sea! The Salton Sea Management Program and its partners are bringing a hands-on opportunity to learn more about the Vegetation Enhancement projects, help collect seeds from the native plants grown at active restoration sites, how they support future planting for more restoration, and how they protect air quality and support wildlife.

 

 

 Earth Day at Bolsa Chica State Beach 

When: Sunday, April 27 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Location: 17851 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA 92649, Lifeguard Tower 28 

Description: Join Bolsa Chica State Beach, the Bolsa Chica Conservancy, and Huntington Harbor to celebrate Earth Day! This three-site extravaganza will begin at Bolsa Chica State Beach. Come by Tower 28 for a beach cleanup to give back to the Earth and your community. Across the street at the Bolsa Chica wetlands, explore the number of booths to learn about our local wildlife. Continue to Huntington Harbor for more activities! This event is free and offers free parking.
