DWR today announced the official launch of the new Be Well Prepared program that provides information and resources to help well owners, well users, and local agencies be ready for impacts of climate-driven weather extremes on groundwater supplies and drinking water wells.
State funding will help communities implement groundwater recharge, flood management, water conservation, and water supply reliability projects.
Operating these pumps to divert water for the next four months could capture upwards of 55,000 acre-feet in spring runoff, alleviating flood impacts to communities and bolstering the amount of water stored underground.
DWR today conducted the fifth snow survey of the season at Phillips Station.
