SACRAMENTO – The Department of Water Resources (DWR) today removed the algal bloom “caution” advisory for San Luis Reservoir, which means it is safe to resume water activities without restrictions. The California Department of Parks and Recreation is removing signage at the Merced County reservoir.
From late June to September 15, a “danger” advisory was in effect prohibiting water activities in the reservoir. The advisory was downgraded to a “warning” in mid-September, and further downgraded to “caution” on Nov. 3. With cooler weather conditions prevailing, DWR does not anticipate future advisories in the immediate months ahead.
