Stakeholder Meeting - Wholesale Water Supplier Water Loss Report
The Department of Water Resources (DWR) will conduct a stakeholder meeting on Tuesday, August 20 to initiate a study on Wholesaler Water Loss Reporting and the process to develop legislative recommendations.
In 2018, the State Legislature and Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr passed two bills that direct California’s effort towards making water conservation a California way of life. One component of these bills directs DWR to study and make legislative recommendations by January 1, 2020 on the feasibility of developing and enacting water loss reporting requirements for urban wholesale water suppliers. As part of the study, DWR is required to solicit broad public participation from stakeholders and other interested persons.
During this meeting, DWR and stakeholders will discuss issues regarding wholesale supplier reporting to assist in framing the report.
