Energy & Transportation

Climate change will impact energy and transportation in many ways. Some of the biggest impacts include direct impacts to infrastructure from heat waves, floods, fire, sea level rise and storm surges. Extreme events and longer-term changes will impact power supplies, the electric grid, pipelines, airports and sea ports, roads and highways. Adaptation must include measures to protect existing infrastructure and a planning and investment framework that minimizes the risks of climate impacts to new infrastructure.
